Support Douglas Town Band

Here at Douglas Town Band we rely entirely on the support that the town and the island have provided the band since it was formed in 1887 and the continuing assistance of our supporters has been the driving force behind our success.
As a self-funded brass band, we always welcome additional support to enable us to continue to survive and work within the local community. There are several ways in which you can easily support us below from no cost options such as volunteering, to one-off donations and annual subscriptions which feature many benefits to our supporters.

Donate

When you make a donation to Douglas Town Band, you are supporting us with our running costs. It is surprising how much it costs to run the bands just for one year.
With annual expenditure such as band room costs, instrument repair, music stands, new music, instrument replacement, uniform upkeep, contest entry fees, and transportation expenses to name but a few of the considerable outgoings. We always welcome any donation, however small or indeed large!

Volunteer

We are always on the look out for people to help the band there are several activities we always need an extra pair of hands to help out with.

If you would be interesting in giving up some time and supporting the band you can get involved with helping maintain the library, supporting our concerts and events with the catering and manning any stalls.

We are also currently on the look out for someone to document and research the bands history from 1887 to preset day.

Sponsor

Band equipment is one of the main expenses that the band faces. Buying, maintaining, repairing and replacing items such as instruments, uniforms, stands and music is an expensive affair.

We are also looking for sponsorship for our youth band members to get private one to one lessons with a qualified tutor. This will bring them on significantly, and the more we invest into our youth band the more chance we have of keeping the main band going with an influx of enthusiastic players.

You could make an enormous difference by sponsoring some equipment or a young player to receive lessons!
